The service is good and quick. They had no diesel cars left, but we could choose from several gasoline cars. The only minus - too many scratches on all doors, roof ...

It was a little unclear at first after coming through passport control in the arrival hall, but found the rental place very quickly, bus service ok. Service was excellent, very friendly person, taking the time to explain the contract. I knew about the full tank of petrol, which I don't like, but have to accept. Also the insurance was explained. The car hire was very cheap so I wasn't expecting too much, the car had a few marks on it, but was in perfect working order. Tires could do with a renewal soon. The car was clean, radio working,so all in all I was happy.

A Quick Guide to... Locarno

Locarno is a beautiful city in Switzerland located on the edge of the Lake Maggiore. Unsurprisingly, it is a town offering a range of water sport activities. There is a range of things to see and do whilst you are in Locarno. Being in Switzerland, you should always try the chocolate, of course, and perhaps see if you can find a Swiss Cheese factory, or a clock factory to be really authentic.

Around Locarno, however, you will mainly be involved in boating activities, as well as nature walks. There is also a very old monastery that can be reached via a cable cart train known as the Funicalar. Every July, there is the Moon and Stars Festival to be visited and August hosts the Locarno International Film Festival, which offers the biggest open air screen in the whole of Europe.

Locarno itself has very little else to offer and is more a destination for a couple of days of relaxation, rather than a fully fledged holiday. However, many people opt for car hire Locarno and use the town as their pied-a-terre whilst they visit other interesting places in the area such as Lugano, Ascona, Bellinzona and the Verzasca Valley.

Through anycarhire.com, you will be able to find a vehicle that meets all your needs and requirements whilst staying within your budget. Switzerland is not known for being a particularly cheap place to visit, so keeping the price down on your travel arrangements is a good idea. Driving to the Verzasca Valley is a real joy for many with crystal blue waters and ancient bridges ? including the Ponte Dei Salti, which is a double arched bridge. Overall, Locarno and the surrounding areas are great areas for walking and relaxing, offering beautiful natural sights that are sure to please the whole family.
