The service is good and quick. They had no diesel cars left, but we could choose from several gasoline cars. The only minus - too many scratches on all doors, roof ...

It was a little unclear at first after coming through passport control in the arrival hall, but found the rental place very quickly, bus service ok. Service was excellent, very friendly person, taking the time to explain the contract. I knew about the full tank of petrol, which I don't like, but have to accept. Also the insurance was explained. The car hire was very cheap so I wasn't expecting too much, the car had a few marks on it, but was in perfect working order. Tires could do with a renewal soon. The car was clean, radio working,so all in all I was happy.

A Quick Guide to... Honolulu

Honolulu, a huge city located in Oahu Island, is the most densely populated and the capital city of Hawaii State. The name Honolulu means ?place of shelter? in Hawaiian language, and the city became the capital of Hawaii in 1845. The city is very popular today as it was the birth area of the 44thleader of the US. The urban area has a population of about 376,000 people as of 2010.

The city is the midpoint for political, transport, communication and trade for Hawaii and is the country?s most famous tourist destination location as well as the entry point to Hawaii by tourists. Honolulu was long ago only a humble village until 1809 when King Kamehameha I moved his royal home to Oahu and then in 1845 when his successor moved it to Honolulu. Its ideal location made it a great trading center for merchants and despite the several attacks on the city it remained the capital of Hawaii with the main airport and the seaport of the Islands.

You can get to the city via ships that frequently link the city to the American mainland. You can also travel by plane, and within the city you can make use of buses or taxis. Rental cars are also available with quite a large number of companies offering car hire in Honolulu services with details on the charges being found online on websites such as anycarhire.com. There are plenty of beaches in Honolulu with the most famous being the Waikiki beach that is an excellent place for swimming, sunbathing, canoeing, surfing and body boarding. For people who find this beach as overcrowded, there are others that can be visited including the Ala Moana Park, the Halona Beach Cove, the Sandy Beach and the other popular beach Hananauma Bay.

Honolulu has a number of museums too such as the Bishop Museum which is the largest in the town and most of it is dedicated to the history of Hawaii. There are other several museums in downtown Honolulu including military memorials and other great places besides.
