The service is good and quick. They had no diesel cars left, but we could choose from several gasoline cars. The only minus - too many scratches on all doors, roof ...

It was a little unclear at first after coming through passport control in the arrival hall, but found the rental place very quickly, bus service ok. Service was excellent, very friendly person, taking the time to explain the contract. I knew about the full tank of petrol, which I don't like, but have to accept. Also the insurance was explained. The car hire was very cheap so I wasn't expecting too much, the car had a few marks on it, but was in perfect working order. Tires could do with a renewal soon. The car was clean, radio working,so all in all I was happy.

A Quick Guide to... Denver

Denver, in the state of Colorado, is the capital city and a metropolis with easy access to many incredible locations across the state. Mile High City, as it is known, is a great starting point for a more thorough exploration of all that Colorado has to offer. It is serviced by the Denver International Airport and there are a number of scenic drives through the state that are quite breathtaking.

Denver has eighty neighborhoods spread out across the city. Whilst there is some overlap between neighborhoods, each location is quite different from the next in both character and appearance. Locations further out of the city usually have somewhat more modern buildings having been developed after World War II.

The parks and recreational facilities in Denver are unusual. Effort was made to acquire a number of parks and later to revitalize them using a German architect, to both increase their size and the attractiveness of their appearance. A lot of this was from the public policy of a prominent past major, Robert Speer, who had two terms in office as major of Denver. Mountain parkland was also acquired to create places for hikers and the nature lover to enjoy. Indeed, parks in Denver form a kind of social glue that holds the sense of community together and gives it needed cohesiveness.

In a surprising move, Denver passed a law in 2005 to make possession of less than an ounce of marijuana legal for adults 21 and older. State law still makes possession illegal however.

The Denver economy is partly linked to it being the largest city within 800 miles and so it is often used as a hub for storage and transportation of goods to other locations. A number of prominent businesses, such as the Samsonsite luggage company and Newmont Mining Corporation, a major gold producer, were founded in Denver.

Sports is big news in Denver, with the Denver Broncos of the National Football League, being the big draw. The Colorado Avalanche, an NHL team, are also popular and have gone on to win two Stanley Cups.

Denver and especially the Colorado area provides excellent opportunities to explore a diverse landscape with a car. Car hire in Denver is affordable and more information can be found at Anycarhire.com.
