What Our Customers Say:
The service is good and quick. They had no diesel cars left, but we could choose from several gasoline cars. The only minus - too many scratches on all doors, roof ...2013-11-26Andrey
It was a little unclear at first after coming through passport control in the arrival hall, but found the rental place very quickly, bus service ok. Service was excellent, very friendly person, taking the time to explain the contract. I knew about the full tank of petrol, which I don't like, but have to accept. Also the insurance was explained. The car hire was very cheap so I wasn't expecting too much, the car had a few marks on it, but was in perfect working order. Tires could do with a renewal soon. The car was clean, radio working,so all in all I was happy.2013-11-26Marijke Phillips

A Quick Guide to... Arcachon
Arcachon is a community in the Girode area in south west France. It is situated 55 kilometers to the south west of the Landes forest in Bordeaux and is a very popular destination for tourists due principally to its very popular beaches and warm bathing waters. Arcachon is well known for the architectural style of its local villas named Arcachonnaise.
The town is fairly new, dating back just 150 years, before which it was a forest of oaks, strawberry trees and pine trees. In the early days, the dwellings were primarily wood huts home to mostly peasants and fishermen. It is for this reason that most of the visitors to the area consider it a relaxing spot and don?t visit for the history of the town. It is just 7.5 square kilometers in size and around 11,500 people live in the area.
The beaches in Arcachon are picturesque and would look at home on the front of a postcard. The most famous of these beaches, the Dune du Pyla is renowned for its huge sand dunes and is enormously long, measuring some 3 kilometers from end to end. It is west facing, so visitors are treated to some incredibly beautiful sunsets in the early evening.
Along with the beaches, there are many places to enjoy water sports like surfing, wind surfing and even some powerboat activities like water skiing. The Port of Arcachon is a fishing port and doubles as a marina. From here you can hire sailboats or even take sailing classes. Several operators also offer chartered fishing trips that leave from the Port of Arcachon. Also departing this port are boat tours that will take you past the Ile Aux Oiseaux (Island of Birds) and the several oyster farms along the islands where you can even pay to hunt for your own oysters which naturally, you can eat too.
With so much to see and do and because you?ll probably be heading to Arcachon to relax, the best way to get around is by car.
