What Our Customers Say:
The service is good and quick. They had no diesel cars left, but we could choose from several gasoline cars. The only minus - too many scratches on all doors, roof ...2013-11-26Andrey
It was a little unclear at first after coming through passport control in the arrival hall, but found the rental place very quickly, bus service ok. Service was excellent, very friendly person, taking the time to explain the contract. I knew about the full tank of petrol, which I don't like, but have to accept. Also the insurance was explained. The car hire was very cheap so I wasn't expecting too much, the car had a few marks on it, but was in perfect working order. Tires could do with a renewal soon. The car was clean, radio working,so all in all I was happy.2013-11-26Marijke Phillips

A Quick Guide to... Ancona
Ancona is a city and very busy sea port in the Marche region of central Italy. It has a population of around 102,000 people across a land area of about 123 square kilometers. It is situated on the Adriatic Sea and is the capital of the Marche region. The city is located to the north east of Rome which is around 280km away. Ancona was founded by Greek settlers in about 387 BC which is where the name of the city came from ? the Greek word meaning ?elbow? named because the harbor, situated to the east of town was protected by the promontory on the north which was shaped like an elbow. Sometime during its history it became a Roman colony, however the exact date is unknown.
The city of Ancona is culturally rich and visitors flock year after year to the city to explore the buildings and sights of times gone which still stand proud all around the city. Arguably the biggest of these tourist attractions is the Cathedral Church of St Ciriaco which was built around the beginning of the 11th century and completed in 1189. It is constructed in the form of a Greek cross and contains many different elements in its construction including Byzantine art. Towards the interior of the Cathedral there are ten columns often attributed to the temple of Venus and below this, a crypt extends.
Other sites that are popular with tourists visiting the area are the marble Arch of Trajan which is 18 meters high and was built as an entrance to the causeway on the harbor wall, the Lazaretto, a pentagonal building that covers more than 20,000 square meters and was built to protect the military defensive authorities. There are many other buildings dripping with history and anyone visiting Ancona will be spoilt for choice.
