Barcelona Airport Guide

Barcelona Airport GuideBarcelona Airport is the nearest to Barcelona city centre. Each year it receives more than 30 million visitors. There are two terminals, and Terminal Two is divided into three separate buildings. Terminal Two is also home to two lounges, open from 6:30am to 10:30pm, which offer free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, free snacks such as pastries and biscuits and computers with complimentary internet access.

In Terminal One, or T1, there are many shops to spend time in. Most of the shops in T1 are after you have passed through security and sell everything from food to clothes, from accessories to gifts, from toys to books. The shops selling food and drink are delicious — local wines from Cal Pere make great gifts, as do the unique chocolate creations found in Chocolat Factory. You can treat yourself to a pastry from La Farga or enjoy high quality Spanish produce from the Sibarium Delicatessen.

The Ferrari store in T1, selling clothes and accessories with the Ferrari logo on them, is a great place to buy gifts and treats for car lovers. There are several lingerie shops, sports shops, luggage stores and baby clothes stores. You can find children’s toys in the Imaginarium and technical items in Crystal. For last minute things you may have forgotten such as sun lotion there is The Airport Market. If you are returning from Barcelona but haven’t bought enough souvenirs, Thinking Barcelona sells a variety of themed products.

Shopping in Terminal Two, or T2, is less extensive; there are still many food shops and stores filled with clothes, perfumes and cosmetics, but there are not as many stores in T2 as in T1. However unless you have an extremely long time to spend at the airport you could still pass time here; there is plenty to see.

If you wanted to eat at Barcelona Airport, it is better to go through security into the departures area as before this there are only three places to eat. However, once you go through security their range becomes much wider; there are cafes, restaurants and coffee shops aplenty.
