Arizona

Arizona is a state in south west America that is also known as the Grand Canyon State.  It was the 48th state to be added to America and is home to a fascinating variety of cultures.  The terrain in the state also varies dramatically as does the climate.  Arizona is bordered by New Mexico, Utah, California, Nevada and the Mexican state of Sonora.  Being one of the four corner states this is a great place to start a road trip!

Climate

Arizona has a mild climate during the autumn, winter and spring which is when most tourists choose to visit.  Summers can be extremely hot but due to the varied terrains there are still cooler areas for tourists to visit.  In fact, you can even choose to go on a winter sports holiday in Arizona during the winter months as snowfall is common in the elevated parts of the state and there are a number of ski slopes to enjoy.

Things to See and Do

Arizona is such a varied state that there are numerous things to do to suit all tastes.  Some of the most popular include:

  • Checking out (or even participating in) one of the festivals held in the state each year
