When to go Romania
The weather in Romania is similar to most of continental
Europe, with hot summers and cold winters, with four distinct
seasons. With this in mind it’s best to travel to Romania
between May and September, when the temperature is around 23C
on average and there’s no chance of snowfall. However, the
temperature has been known to hit the high 30s at some points
and it’s at this time when it’s incredibly humid. Because of
this it’s best to avoid the hottest months of July and August
so that you don’t run the risk of sunstroke.
In the winter months, between November and February, the
temperature is much colder, with the average being below
freezing. It’s recommended that if you’re travelling to the
country during this season that you have suitable thermal
clothing packed. During these months there is very little
sunlight and so it’s dark and snowy, with up to ten snow days
in a month, which are often treacherous at night. If you are
driving around in snowy conditions you will have to be wary of
black ice, which is often difficult to see on the icy roads.
