Vitoria the capital of Espirito Santo State is located in an island with the same name and is featured by its amazing beauty and its modernity. It is a busy sea port and a growing industrial center. It is the leading iron ore port of Brazil and the people are very representative of the Brazilian melting pot. Most of the city’s history has been preserved in the colonial styled houses, churchs and antique Forts where the century long traditions have been kept and admired by the capixaba which is the name given to the locals. This city is the political capital of the Basque country and administration was recently relocated from Bilbao to Vitoria, the main language is Spanish but Basque language is common and English is not spoken anywhere.

The port of Vitoria integrates to the city and is the landmark between Vitoria’s tourist attractions. The city is famous for its wonderful beaches and the weather which is most of the time is very good sunny and warm. The blue sea and the green mountains under the tropical sun are the best places to visit in the city. The city is also famous for the festivals, the Holy three kings which is in the month of January, the Festival de Jazz de Vitoria Gasteiz in the mid july, Fiesta Celedon in the first week of August and the Christmas Parade on the 24 th of December.

Shopping malls are in plenty in the north of Vitoria on the road to Bilbao, famous for leather items and shoes which is always an option in Spain and especially in Vitoria. Bars and restaurants are in and around the town center where one can enjoy few small drinks with some tapas. The Basque cuisine is one of the best in Spain and Vitoria has restaurants in all categories.
