Caracas City – Central Venezuela

Iglesia de San Francisco – a 15 th century historical and artistically church was the site of a massive funeral for Simon Bolivar.

Museo de Arte Contemporaneo – included collections of modern art in South America and works by Picasso, Matisse, Joan Miro and other modern masters.

Catedral Metropolitana de Caracas – the 17 th century cathedral’s main alter was gild with over 300 pounds of gold leaf and also houses the private chapel of Bolivar family.

Concejo Municipal – the building is located on the site where declaration of independence was signed in 1811 and includes paintings of Venezuelan artists.

Panteon Nacional – includes the remains of celebrated Venezuelans and the buildings walls and ceilings display the most famous independence battle scenes.

Museo Sacro de Caracas – the museum is housed in an 1844 building and includes religious art, statues, costumes, furniture, religious objects and common grave.

El Capitolio Nacional – two neoclassical style buildings one is the Legislative Palace and the other is the Federal Palace, house the Venezuela’s National Congress.

Merida City – Andes

Merida Cable Car – the longest and highest cable car in the world was constructed between 1957-60.

Plaza Bolivar – located in the center of the city Merida shows visitors the roots of the city’s history and it is the site where modern day Merida was founded.

Cathedral Metropolitana de Merida – the cathedral was built in the 19 th century, which was delayed due to earthquakes, the War of Independence and internal political conflicts.

Merida Museum of Modern Art – the museum is located in Merida’s cultural arts complex and the small art museum features works by many famous local artists.

Our Lady of Carmen Church – the oldest religious structure in Merida and stands close to the Plaza Bolivar, the church is a seat of the Carmelite Brotherhood.

Parque Beethoven – is dedicated to the famous classical composer in a small urban refuge with a statue that honors Beethoven and a clock made of flowers.

Margarita Island Attractions

Isla Margarita Golf Club (golf club), Basilica Virgen del Valle (basilica features the Virgin of the Valley), Laguna de la Restinga (natural lagoon), Senor Frogs (Mexican café), La Playa El Agua (tropical beach), Vela Margarita Windsurf Center (sports camp) and Margarita Mirage .
