Val d’Lsere situated at the head of the Tarentaise Valley is one of the true European ski meccas, it has some of the best and highest on and offpiste skiing in the world.

Val d’Lsere is popular with the English and nightlife is centred on venus such as Dick’s tea bar and the Moris pub. The city offers a variety of options for non skiers including an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor ice skating rink. Val d’lsere meanders for a couple of kilometers from the purpose built hamlet of La Daille to the old house of Le Fornet. The commercial heat of the city is between two roundanouts in the middle with val village a cluster of old style stone building displaying smart boutiques surrounding the 11 th century church. Val d’lsere has a plenty to offer shopaholics particularly those with large wallets wanting to look their best on the slopes. There are mini super markets and some wonderful delicatessens for self catering.

Nightlife is fabulous in the city and it seems to be dominated by English speakers and bars filled up with Brits and Aussie skiers straight off the slopes. Dick’s T bar gets going after midnight with loud music and plenty of alchohol.
