Weather in Turkey

Turkey has a wide and diverse range of climatic conditions, thanks to the unique nature of its terrain, especially the mountain ranges near its coastal areas. At the Anatolia plateau, the summers are especially hot (temperatures can go as high as 29°C) and the winters are cold with some occurrences of rain and snow. The winter is especially brutal in Eastern Anatolia and South-Eastern Anatolia, where the snow on the ground does not melt from November till May. The coastal areas of Turkey have climatic conditions which are less extreme in nature. Temperatures there can be as low as –13°C.

Near Istanbul , the summers are quite warm with temperatures peaking out at approximately 27°C, which can drop to sub-zero levels during winter. The Black Sea region of Turkey has a particularly hot and humid climate compared to the rest of the country.

If you happen to be planning to pay a visit to Turkey , the spring and fall seasons are the best times to go there. The temperatures are kinder, and the skies are mostly clear, although some rain can be expected. Most tourists, however, choose to visit Turkey during the summer because of the well-coveted warm climatic conditions.
