The Tiree Airport is located on the south east coast of the Tiree Island. The island beaches are known for surfing events and receives the highest levels of sunshine in the otherwise wet and unpredictable climate of UK. The first flight landed at Tiree Airport in 1935

Travel to and from Airport

The airport is 2 miles to the north of Crossapol with signpost from all directions.

Public Transportation : the on demand “Ring’n’Ride’ service is provided for travelling in the island. The Coachway operates bus service from airport to St. Peter Port. For passengers travelling to Scarinish buses are available from airport once in a day, Postal bus.

Car / Taxi : the capital of the is St. Peter Port and is 4 miles from the southern end. Taxis are available from the airport.

TIREE AIRPORT INFORMATION

The airport has only one terminal building and operates on working days from 10.00am to 15.00pm (Monday-Friday) and 9.30am to 11.00am (Saturday) and remains closed on Sundays. The airport is small and operates one scheduled flight to and from Glasgow with regular chartered flights.

The terminal has a café serving snacks and refreshments.

It is not the best place for airport shopping but houses a small store with books and other basic needs.

Banking should be done before travelling to the airport.

Facilities for Disabled : the airport includes wide doorways, parking, lifts, specially designed toilets with ramps at the terminal entrance. Ambulift will be provided for boarding the aircraft.
