Taormina, the name was initially Tauromenion is an attractive and permanantly fashionable destination, it is delightful and expensive place. This is the same place where the Hollywood celebrities travelled to receive awards in the Teatro Greco.
Some of the best places to visit are the Panoramic terrace of Piazza IX Aprile on Corso Umberto, the Teatro Greco and the public gardens. There are several fascinating follies to admire including the cottages and the towers and some old artillery. The Museo Archeologico museum located in the 14 th century is a mind blowing place in Taormina to visit and several fragmentary statues and attractive Roman vases. Some of the other attractions are the Teatro Antico the most characteristic construction, the Saracen Castle built on the ancient Greek acropolis and the city’s most important palace Palazzo Corvaja with a mixed style that includes Arab, Gothic and Norman.
The lovely beaches including the beautiful bays of Isola Bella is a rocking place in Taormina to visit. Tours and activities can be booked in advance to really feel the holidays at Taormina. Huge range of cafes, restaurants and bar are available to rock out and the nightlife is really amazing at Taormina. Accommodation is quite expensive but cheap in off season and the town is less packed too.
