Sweden located in the northern part of Europe and acquired its present borders in 1812, the last time Sweden was engaged in war. Stockholm is built on a group of islands adjoining the mainland, the capital of Sweden.

Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities : the museum was built in 1700 as stables for Charles XII’s bodyguard. The display collection are from archaeological excavations includes fine arts, handicrafts from the Asian countries like India, China, Japan and Korea. The collections are some of the most unique objects outside Asia, the Chinese Neolithic painted pottery, bronze ritual vessels, woodcarvings, ivory and enamelware.
Vasa Museum : located in Stockholm is the most visited museum in Scandinavia was inaugurated in 1990. In the large ship hall is the warship Vasa, which is the only intact remain of the 17 th century ship in the world. The ships lower rig has been rebuilt complete with mast, stays and shrouds.
Goteborgs Konstmuseum : the leading art museum of Gothenburg includes collections of modern arts of masters Bonnard, Cezanne, Van Gogh and Picasso along with sculpture by Milles and Rodin.
Stora Amundon : an island located south of the city Brottskar, which is linked to the mainland with a bridge. The island is an absolute tourist destination with cliffs, sandy beaches, ancient monuments and natural paths.
Ylvsborgs Nya Fastning : an old fortress and prison located on a island at the entrance of the harbour. The fortress was built as a military battery on Hising Island at the entrance of the harbour in the 16 th century.
Fastningsspelsdagarna : the Carlstens fortress in Marstrand is one of the fortresses in the Gothenburg’s surrounding, where used during the war between Sweden and Norway. A festival is held in the fortress every july, enacted by actors and salutes by the fortress guns from the 18 th century.
The Museum of World Culture : the exhibitions of Swedish culture on global scale is on display has been created to support blurring the borders between countries. The museum building is a robust with intriguing design, was awarded the Sweden’s Kasper Salin Prize for Architecture.
East India House : the museum focuses on the history, archaeology, culture and medicine of Gothenburg and its environment. The museum collections include exhibits from the Viking era and unique artifacts found in the area.
