Stuttgart is situated among the slopes of the River Neckar Valley and is surrounded by wooden hills, forests and vineyard. The city is also the capital of Baden Wurttemberg and the economic hub of the region, home to the automobile giants like Mercedes-Benz, Porsches and Zeiss (optical equipments).

Mercedes-Benz Museum – the museum includes the collections of the world’s oldest automobile factory and the invention of the motorcar by Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler. The display includes 75 historical vehicles including the Daimler Reitwagen from 1885, the first motor bicycle. Daimler first Mercedes of 1902, racecars from 1899, the Blitzen-Benz, the Silver Arrow, Sauber Mercedes and the indica car are on display.

Staatsgalerie – the state gallery includes one of the finest art collections in Germany and the oldest part of the complex dates back from 1843, which has paintings from the Middle Ages through the 19 th century. The original building is connected to the Neue Staatsgalerie was designed by British architect James Stirling as a melding of classical and modern, sometimes jarring, elements.

Schlossplatz – also known as the Royal Square or Castle Square is surrounded by impressive Renaissance and neoclassical palaces, fountains, statues and sculpture. In 1841 the Jubilee Column was erected to celebrate the silver jubilee of King Wilhelm I. The palace is now home to the Wurttemberg state museum, hosts summer concerts, theater performances and a Christmas Market.

State Gallery – includes the old state gallery exhibits collections from the Middle Ages to the present time. The old state gallery displays collections up to 19 th century including old German, Italian, Dutch and Impressionist was built from 1838 to 1843. The new gallery was built between 1979 and 1984 includes collection from postmodern era.

Porsche Museum – the museum was built since 1948 and dedicated to the one million Porsche sports cars. The museum displays classic production, racing Porsches and new models and prototypes that never went into production.

Linden Museum – the museum was founded in 1884 with collections of the Linden, the German Museum of Ethnology.

Konigstrasse – the kilometer long pedestrianized Konigstrasse extends from the central station to Schulstrasse, the first pedestrian only zone in Germany in 1953. The area is located with sophisticated shopping, departmental stores, specialty shops, cafes and restaurants.
