Two city bus services are also available for travelling around the town and its surrounding areas Along Route 478, buses run every twenty minutes from Cartron to Cairns Road via the town center and back again, and along Route 478A, from the bus station to Carrowmore via Strandhill Road, from Mondays to Saturdays.
If you are using a rented car or such vehicle to travel in Sligo, you may find it difficult to find parking spaces everywhere. Fortunately, most hotels and inns have their own free parking facilities for their clients only. If you want to park elsewhere inside the town, you have to resort to one of the numerous car parks around town which are operated by the local authority. In most parts of the town center, in order to park in a public car park or street, you must pay at the nearest parking meter. Only exact change is accepted.
