Getting to Sicily

Sicily, a city having divine beauty, is far from almost all over in Europe, but there are numerous rather simple ways of getting there. Getting there is possible by Car, Rail, Bus, Air and Ferry.

Car ferries leave for Sicily from plenty of towns near the Italian shore regularly. Those Cities are Naples, Genoa, Calabria and Livorno etc. One of the handiest ways for reaching Sicily is train journey. From almost everywhere in Europe, someone can comfortably reach Reggio di Calabria, at the southern end of Italy. After reaching the Calabria’s Villa San Giovanni port, it will roll onto an enormous barge for the one hour journey to eastern Sicily. There is no straight bus service to Sicily from Italy’s outside. Most tourists take a bus to Rome first then purchase another ticket for Sicily. Since from outside Italy, there are hardly any direct flights to the city, usually international tourists fly to Milan or Rome first and then take a linking flight. Sicily is exceptionally well connected by sea to Italy, with both hydrofoils and ferries leaving from numerous towns beside the shore. Nearly all prominent water trip is from Calabria’s Villa San Giovanni to eastern Sicily’s Messina. On the island, the city has two airports, one in Catania and one in Palermo. Most travelers land on Falcone Borsellino, Palmero International Airport, which is situated 20 miles west of Sicily.
