Three daily trains arrive to Paseo de la Estacion de Ferrocarril, which is at the north east of the town centre. All train comes directly from the north station of Madrid. Salamanca is connected through the frequent rail services from Avila, Ciudad Rodrigo, and Valladolid.
Frequent bus services connect Salamanca to Madrid. Salamanca's bus terminal is at Av. Filiberto Villalobos 71, northwest of the center of town. There are also buses to Salamanca from Avila, Zamora, Valladolid, León, and Cáceres (2-13 per day, depending on the point of departure). Salamanca isn't on a national highway, but a good network of roads converges there from such nearby cities as Avila, Valladolid, and Ciudad Rodrigo. One of the most heavily trafficked highways is the N-620, leading into Salamanca from both Barcelona and Portugal. From Madrid, take the N-VI northwest, forking off to Salamanca on the N-501.
