A bronze memorial was built in August 1845 situated in facade of Fürstenberg Palace of Bonn, Germany which is today the main post office. It was built in the memory of the 75th year of Beethoven’s birthday on Münsterplatz. There was a competition announced in the year 1840 which was Ernst Hähnel won where he presented a replica of the truthful Beethoven using the famous life mask as his face model.
