Papa New Guinea is located north of Australia in the confluence of major ocean currents from Japan, Indian Ocean, the South Pacific and the Great Barrier Reef. Port Moresby is the capital of Papa New Guinea and the country is one of the biggest South Pacific nations. Lake Kutubu – the lake is embellished by some of the Highlands’ most stunning scenery with the surrounding country, which is home to friendly people who live a largely traditional life.
Varirata National Park – Papa New Guinea’s first national park has a variety of interesting and clearly marked walking trails with excellent views of the countries capital and the south coast. While some of the trails are jungle like, which is considering the park’s proximity to Port Moresby.
Mt. Wilhelm – is the main attraction for visitors in the country’s Highland and on clear days the north and south coasts of the mainland can be seen. The region around the base offers fantastic walking and dramatic landscapes.
The Sepik – is a region of islands with open coastline, beautiful beaches and rugged mountain ranges. The Sepik is perhaps the most fascinating area of Papa New Guinea and the main attraction is the Sepik River a meandering, oily brown, serpentine flow of water.
