Newcastle is the largest city of northeast England and it’s rich history which dates back to the Roman times. Now it is a mix of historical structures and modern living with wonderful shops, resturants and stylish lifestyle. While visiting the city one will notice the remains of the city walls, towers still exists today with the best part still surviving behind Stowell Street. The city wall was erected to protect the confines of the city when the Roman fort of Pons Aelius was also built. The remains of the glorious Victorian architecture remains to be seen in Grey Street the most beautiful architecture till date.

Eldon Square the best shopping centre one must not forget to visit. It has some fine international resturants, pubs, bars and lots of entertainment with cinemas, theatres and lively nightlife.

Historical Monuments and Castles : The St. Nicholas Cathedral built in the 12 th century at the St. Nicholas Square. The New Castle or the Castle Garth built during 1080 by Robert Curthose. The same New Castle was rebuilt again with stone in the 12 th century by Henry II which has some remains till today. A huge grey monument built at the top Grey Street to honour the Prime Minister Earl Grey, a local man held office in early 18 th century.
