The airport is located on Van Wych Expressway (678), which is 15 miles southeast of downtown New York.
New York JFK Airport Terminal Information
The airport has nine terminals all serving international carriers and the terminals are colour-coded sections. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are green, terminals 4E and 4W are blue, terminals 5, 6, and 7 are orange and terminals 8 and 9 are red. The AirTrain JFK provides complimentary service to all terminals.
New York JFK Airport Information Desk
The airport information desks and customer service desks are located in all the terminals and automatic information kiosks are located throughout the terminals. The ground transportation information desk is located near the baggage claim area of the terminals and multi-lingual customer service representative are throughout the terminal and can be identified by their red jackets.
New York JFK Airport Facilities
Currency Exchanger & ATMs : the bureau de change and cash dispenser machines are available in all the terminals except in terminal 6. There are American banks located in three of the nine terminals.
Food & Drinks : the airport being one of the biggest in terms of size there is vast area dedicated for airport cafes, bars, fast food outlets and restaurants serving American fast foods, refreshment and meals. The outlets are located throughout the terminals before and after security control.
Shopping : the airport also has many shops selling branded to international made commodities in the terminals and the duty free shops are located in terminal 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9.
Left / Lost Luggage : the left luggage office is located in terminal 1 and 4 and for lost luggage facility call (Ph: 718 244 4225/6).
Other Facilities : mobile phone for hire is available in the arrivals area of terminal 3.
Medical center is available in the terminals.
Internet kiosks and access points are located throughout the terminals.
Children play area and baby change rooms are available in the terminals.
Public telephones are located throughout the terminals.
Fax and photocopying is also available in all the terminals.

The huge airport is wheelchair accessable and provides ramps and lifts for passengers to access different levels in the terminals. Specially designed telephones, toilets, ATMs, and wheelchair is available on request are conveniently located in the terminals. Reserved reduced rate parking is available at car parks close to the terminals. Any special or specific assistance at the airport the airlines should be informed in advance.
