The New England area is situated on the Great Dividing Range throughout the northern part of New South Wales to the Queensland border. It is rich in agricultural area and contains many national parks and is also home to the southern hemisphere’s largest granite monolith.

The city houses some beautiful museum and art galleries also, the New England Regional Art Museum home of the Howard Hinton and Coventry collections located in Armidale and the Tamworth City Gallery featuring contemporary Australian fibre textiles and colonial Australian silver collection which is a fascinating insight into the textile in Tamworth.
