The city of Munich has plenty of things to visit and have a wonderful time. It you are having the short of time, you can have some places to visit. Olympiapark(Olympic park) in German was designed for the summer 1972 Olympic Games. You can reach Olympic Park by car, tours or the underground train system. This site is close enough to the center of the city. Just look for signs stating Olympiazenturm. The central area of Munich covers the Marienplatz, a pedestrian only zone gives the feeling of Mini city. It offers a smaller view of Munich, the old buildings, restaurants, festivals and shopping. There are some museums located here also. During the Christmas season there is a Christmas Market that comes to the square. BMW Museum, till 2007 it was temporarily located opposite Olympic Park is the popular BMW Museum. Behind the museum, the BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke) headquarters building (1970-73), with its striking steel cylinders, is an architectural attraction in its own right. Hellabrunn Zoo is located at 30 Tierpark Street. This is a perfect place to come with children or if you are looking for something that makes you feel like you aren’t in the city anymore. The zoo is located right near the Isar River. They have tired to make this zoo feel as natural the animals as possible. The fences don’t get in the way of viewing and they have really attempted to make the animals feel at ease here. Neues Rathaus, is located on 8 Marienplatz. The Neues Rathause means New Town Hall in English. The building has a wonderful architecture and it gives the gothic feeling. The construction was started in 1867 and finally finished in 1909. Now a day it is used as a city hall. The Neues Rathaus was built because the Altes Rathaus, Old Town Hall was crowded and didn’t have the space needed when the city was growing.
