Location of the Airport: The Munich International Airport is located 8 mile northeast of Munich. Munich airport develops and provides the infrastructure required for handling air traffic for the Munich area. It was named the best airport in Europe and the number four airport worldwide for 2005.
Traveling to & from the Munich Airport:
By Rail: The railway station near the airport serves train to various Munich stations including Munich Hauptbahnhof Laim and Osthhnhof connecting to major German cities and European destinations. By Bus: Buses serve from both the terminals to Munich and the surrounding areas, another shuttle bus is provided to the Munchen Messe exhibition center. Bus service to Munich Hauptbahnhof is provided by the Autobus Oberbayern which runs a Lufthansa Airport Bus, tel: (0) 89 323 40).
By Taxi: Taxi runs 24 hours from the airport terminal to the city center.
Terminal information: Munich International airport has 2 terminals connected by Munich Airport Center. Terminal 1 consists of 6 halls and terminal 2 consists of cargo area.
Information Desk: Information desk is located all over the terminal. The central information desk is available on the departures level 4 in the central check-in hall and another information desk is in the front of the arrivals hall 3. There are multi-lingual staffs available at the information desk for any type of queries. There is also a tourist information desk on level 4 in terminal 1.

Currency: Bank and ATMs are available in the airport terminal and a post office is also available. Wireless LAN and 24 hour Internet access is also available at the terminal.
Refreshments: Restaurants, bars and café are available in the terminal, popular spot for drinking and dining is in the terminal 2 gallery.
Shopping: Memorable shopping pleasure is available for passengers in and around the airport terminal from more than 130 shops. It includes duty free, travel value, fashion accessories, gifts, toys, souvenirs, cosmetics, electronics, jewellery, watches, optics, stationary, shoes, leather wear, and many other.
Lost & Left Luggage: Left and lost luggage facility is available in the Service center, tel: (0) 89 9752 1370). Porters are easily recognized by their green uniforms.
Other Facility: Other facilities include dentist, dry cleaning, 24-hour medical emergency, baby changing rooms and children play areas and showers. There are more than 40 travel agencies and tour operators in the terminal.
Car parking: Car parking is opened 24 hours a day and they offer short and long term car parking in all the terminals. Under ground parking facility is also available which offers direct access to the airport. Car parkP41 at Nordallee offers long-term car park at weekly rates and is served by a free shuttle bus to the airport. Munich Airport Facility for the Disabled: Elevators, ramp access, wheelchairs and disabled toilets are available all throughout the airport for the disabled passengers. Disabled car park is available in all underground and multi storey car park. Disabled passengers need to inform the airline for any assistance required prior to their travel. Terminal 2 has tactile systems for the visually impaired passengers. Many services, such as accompaniment, arrangement of disabled transport services and wheelchair repairs are available from the Malteser Service Organization (tel: (0) 89 9756 3333).
