Mijas

Mijas is a charming resort located in the Spanish province of Malaga on the Costa del Sol, divided into two distinct areas, Mijas Costa which is a bustling beach resort and Mijas Pueblo is a typical Andaluz village of whitewashed buildings perched high on the mountainside with spectacular views to the Mediterranean below and a scenic backdrop of pine forests. Mijas is the expatriate home of over 60 nationalities.

The long beaches of Mijas are well cared for clean and soft golden sand and it has maintained a level of the real Spain but has also taken on in a small way something of an international flavor. One of the most famous place to visit is The Hipodromo the Costa del Sol Horseracing track which is just outside of La Cala and is a great family outing. Some of the other places to visit are the La Cala de Mijas famous for its fine golf courses, the lawn bowls, and tennis and water sports.

This little place earlier a busy fishing village is now famous for the delightful chirringuitos open all year round and shopping is fabulous in the city of Mijas. There are some delightful living areas, which are occupied throughout the year.
