Manchester History

On December 1940, Manchester suffered tremendous bomb attack. Most of the parts of the city centre were entirely destroyed. Manchester witnessed most severe bomb attack in her history on 15 June 1996 by the Irish Republican Army (IRA)

Redevelopment

After the 1996 bombing, investments were done and the XVII Commonwealth Games aided for the redevelopment of Manchester 's city centre. New and renovated complexes were built then. The Manchester Arndale became the UK 's largest city centre shopping mall.
