Getting to Manchester
When we hear the word “ Manchester ”, the thing that comes across our mind is the name of two renowned football clubs in England : Manchester United FC & Manchester City FC. But today I am gonna tell you a little more about the City of Manchester .
Manchester is one of the most important & major cities in the United Kingdom lying North West of England & is now the centre of Greater Manchester having a population over 2.5 million.
Getting to Manchester is too easy. One can get in Manchester easily by plane, train, bus or by cars. Manchester has the largest airport ( Manchester International Airport ) in the UK outside of London in its south. Jet2 is one of the ‘low cost airlines'.
Two major railway stations serve Manchester city centre, Victoria in the north and Piccadilly in the south are well-connected with the rest of the UK . One surprising information is fares of the trains vary dramatically depending on time of day and rail operator. One can also take cars to get in Manchester . But in that case one has to bear in mind that parking in the city centre of Manchester can be very expensive. The central coach station is Charlton Street Coach Station . Coaches run from all over the country and are generally the most reasonably-priced way to get into Manchester .
Today Manchester City Centre is on a "tentative list" of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. So why don't we visit this spectacular city even for a day!
