
Malta
Malta a small cluster of islands with wealth of historic traditions, for outstanding summer vacations and a living microcosm of Mediterranean history. The many beaches and the great attractions are the numerous villages ‘Festas’ held mostly during the summer. The festival in honor of the village patron saint is characterized by band marches, spectacular fireworks display, and religious processions.
Malta Attractions
Ggantija Temples : an archaeological and religious site with domes rising from the heavy stone walls of eastern Xaghra’s 5800 year old Ggantija temples. The temple bears the classic five-apse plan, which is the signature of the Maltese megalithic temples.
Megalithic Temples of Malta : seven megalithic temples were found in the island of Malta and Gozo, which are unique in their development. The two temples of Ggantija on the islands of Gozo are popular for the gigantic Bronze Age structures. The temple of Hagar Qin, Mnajdra and Tarxien are unique architectural masterpiece because it was built with limited resources in the island of Malta.
Bormla : the largest of the Cottonera three cities and is surrounded by fortification, which was originally a fishing village but gained importance after the arrival of the Knights of St. John. As the knights moved to the city of Valletta the port of Cospicua had docks constructed and became a leading center for ship repair during the Second World War.
The Vittoriosa 1565 Museum : located in the old part of the Vittoriosa city, the medieval house with 30 life size knights and Turks in action. The action with reconstructions of Dragut’s camp, Turks scaling walls, La Valette’s thanksgiving after the victory and the torture chamber all on a video in various languages.
