Getting to Malaga
The beautiful Spanish city of Malaga, the birthplace of renowned artist Pablo Picasso, is a haven for tourists. It can be reached through quite a number of ways from various locations all over the world.
Malaga features the third biggest international airport in the whole of Spain, and many budget airlines fly to it. Travellers coming in from abroad can first fly to Madrid, the capital of Spain, and catch a plane to Malaga from there. It is quite affordable, and the airline services are also of very high quality.
Upon reaching the airport, a train, bus or taxi can be taken into town. Cars can also be hired from a number of reasonably priced rent-a-car services, although booking them in advance is advised for the best service offers. A taxi ride to the City Center costs about €15. The No. 19 bus is very convenient, and also extremely economical at only 1 per trip. It stops at Alameda Principal and Paseo del Parque, which also serves as a stop for many of the local buses of the city.
Malaga can be reached by car via the A-7 E-15 motorway, which runs along the coast from Gibraltar to Almeria through Murcia and various other scenic locations. Also, the A-45 motorway can be taken to Malaga if the traveller starts from Cordoba.
There is also a ferry route connecting Malaga and Melilla in North Africa. Advance bookings are highly recommended during the peak tourist seasons.
