Disabled Visitors

Disabled access to British Embassy Luxembourg

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the British Embassy in Luxembourg are keen to ensure that their buildings and services are fully accessible to disabled members of the public. Wherever possible, we have made our buildings and services accessible. Sometimes however, this is not possible due to security or other restrictions. In these situations we will endeavor to provide a service or access to a building in an alternative way to ensure equality of access for disabled people. To assist disabled visitors, we have set out below details of disabled access at this Embassy. We hope this information is helpful.

General physical access

  • Entrance through Embassy main gate is quite wide and easily wide enough for wheel chair access
  • Access to front door of Embassy is via steps.  A stair-lift (suitable for wheelchairs) permits disabled access from street level into the Embassy's reception area.  Our staff will be happy to help operate the lift.  If possible, please telephone before your visit so that they can be prepared. Mobile ramps are available, stored near main entrance lobby.
  • The public access areas are all on the same floor.
  • Toilet are not available for the general public.
  • Parking spaces are not available on the Embassy premises although local parking in adjacent streets is available.
  • All floor coverings are safe and even.
