Luton the culturally diverse town is situated in the south of England with great nightlife and wide range of entertainment.
Attractions
Audley End House & Gardens : the Jacobean house set in a serpentine park, designed by Lancelot Brown in 1763. The park includes a circular temple and a bridge over the river cam.
Berkhamsted Castle : there is not much left of the castle, William the conqueror defeated the Saxons at Berkhansted, after his defeat of king Harold at Hastings. Williams the Conqueror was declared the king of England at the Castle.
Luton Museum Service : the museum service includes Wardown Park and Stockwood Park Museum and nature conservation, with the services established in 1927. The museum service being one of the four main hubs in the east of England.
John Dony Field Center : in Bushmead Community Centre and tourist must visit the field center for displays and information about Luton’s countryside sites. Some of the displays are permanent and temporary exhibitions relating to the natural history of Luton.
Barnet Museum : has collections and exhibition includes archaeology, costume, fine arts, coins and medals.
Amersham Museum : the museum is located in part of the 15 th century half timbered hall house. The museum tells the story of Amersham including those martyrs who were burnt in the 16 th century.
Baldock Museum : located in the center of Baldock and entrance is opposite the George & Dragon pub.
Bushey Museum & Art Gallery : has collection of local history and fine arts relating to Herkomer and his art school.
Bishop’s Stortford Museum at Rhodes : the Rhodes Museum and the local history museum have merged as the Bishop’s Storford’s museum.
Chiltern Open Air Museum : the open air museum provides a walk around some 30 historical buildings, toll house, barns, reconstructed Iron age house, granaries, 1940’s fully furnished Prefab, labourers cottages, chapel and a village hall.
Datchworth Museum : the museum has collections of items donated or lent by the local people and located in a blacksmith’s forge.
De Havilland Aircraft Heritage Center : the center is located at the birth place of de Havilland Mosquito and the airspeed Horsa the museum now contains a large collection of de Havilland Aircraft, engines and other memorabilia.
Ford End Watermill : the Ford End Watermill is a fully operational watermill that has been restored by Pitstone local history society.
