London Weather
London has a reputation for variable weather and untimely rains which holds very true. The weather in different months is as follows:
Spring (March – May)
A mixed period for weather with temperatures fluctuating from around 10 to 15°C. It could get wonderfully sunny or might equally be cold and wet! It is advisable to get a good mix of clothing – a sweater and overcoat for the coldest days... and short sleeves for warmer May days. Summer gear and shorts are not required but rainwear is incase you’re unlucky.
Summer (June – August)
In this period temperatures average around 20°C, and often go higher as the weather is warm whether its dry or wet. Londoners head to the parks to soak up the rays and also prepare for occasional showers. Summer dresses and shorts are popularly worn during this time though it is advised to get a light raincoat or something a little warmer for the evenings
Autumn (September – November)
wonderful weather but variable as temperatures range from 10 to 15°C. September may well have an ‘Indian summer’ flavour, so bring light clothing just in case. Bring warmer clothes and rainwear for October and November. A warm overcoat may well be needed in November.
Winter (December – February)
this is the coldest period in London whereby temperatures may drop to below 0. there is often frost and there can be heavy and prolonged rain. warm clothes including an overcoat, gloves, a scarf and hat are necessary. Stout footwear is also a must as puddles are common
