Liverpool Disabled Visitors
As a centre of art and culture Liverpool is going to have a European recognition. It is going to be declared the ‘Cultural Capital of Europe' in the next year. But the question is will the city be accessible to all? Especially to those limited physical capabilities. Many people are raising their voice to ensure that soon the city becomes accessible to the disabled people too. It is really frustrating for the disabled, when they can not even move to the city centers for lack of provisions.
One major problem the disabled people will face in the city of Liverpool is the ongoing road constructions of the city. This makes the movement of the visually impaired or the wheelchair users really tough. Though Liverpool is a shopping paradise for the visitors, the scenario is not so charming for the physically disabled people. The entrances of the markets are blended with the glass-made windows. So, for visually impaired people shopping is not so easy in Liverpool . Except these, the popular tourist destinations of Liverpool are accessible and enjoyable for the disabled people. The Beatles Story, The Tate Modern and The Merseyside Maritime Museum all are accessible for the wheelchair users and have sound sticks for hearing impaired people. But there are many dark areas with in the museums where the disabled people are unable to reach.
