In order to get to Kos by air, a standard international flight is to be taken to Athens, Greece. From there, a plane may be taken to Kos. Olympic Airways and Aegean Airlines are two of the most dependable airlines for this route. The International Airport of Kos, one of the best in the country, accepts chartered flights as well as standard ones. It is located in Antimachia, which is a mere 23 kilometers away from the city of Kos. It is a good idea to arrange a rental car via a travel agent beforehand. A cab or bus may also be taken to the city.
The city of Kos may also be reached by ferry or some personal form of water transport. If you happen to own a sailboat or a yacht, you can anchor your vehicle in the Marina of Kos, Kardamena, Kefalos or Mastihari for reasonable prices. BlueStar Ferries and GA Ferries offer ferry services daily and several times a day at attractive rates to Kos, mostly from Piraeus. It takes approximately five to six hours for a ferry to reach Kos from Piraeus.
