Killarney Castles
Ross Castle – built in the 15 th century by O’Donoghue chieftains is located on the edge of the Lower Lake outside Killarney town. The towers only remain surrounded by a fortified walled garden with rounded turrets. The castle is subject to historical myths including that of a ghost, who still makes appearances at the castle.
