Killarney
Killarney is a town located in the southwest of the Republic of Ireland, in County Kerry. The town is a popular tourist destination due to its remote location that’s meant old tradition has been kept in its culture. In 1981 the park was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and the park forms part of a Special Area of Conservation, something that the park is proud of.
Killarney is well represented throughout all sports played in Ireland. The biggest sports in Ireland are rugby, hurling and Gaelic football. The biggest football team in Killarney are Dr. Crokes, who have won the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship a number of times in their history. Killarney has also hosted the Irish Open golf tournament, thanks to the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, which is a fine 18-hole course.
