The airport is located 20 miles northwest of Kansas City and connected by the I-29 road heading northeast and then Cookingham road that leads towards the airport.

Kansas City Airport Terminal Information

The airport has three terminals A, B and C, which are inter-linked by shuttle buses to transfer passengers between terminals. Currently the airport building is under going renovation, which might cause disruption of service or some area of the terminal might be closed.

Traveling to and from Kansas City Airport

By Bus : the bus transportation service desks are located in all the terminals with several shuttle buses and public buses operating to Kansas city and other destinations. the bus stand is located outside the terminals. The KCI Shuttle buses (Ph: 816 243 5000) and Metro Bus operate to Kansas City and local areas in and around Kansas.

Kansas City Airport Facilities

Currency Exchanger & ATMs : the bureau de change and a bank is located at the business center of terminal A. Several ATMs and banks are located throughout the terminals.

Food & Drinks : cafes, bars, restaurants and fast food outlets are available throughout the terminals before and after security control.

Shopping : duty free shops, gifts shop, local fancy items, jeweler and electronics goods are available in the three terminals.

Left / Lost Luggage : the lost and found office is situated in airport police station(Ph: 816 243 5219).

Other Facilities : the medical center is available.

Internet kiosks, Internet points and Public telephones are available throughout the terminals and business lounges.

Children play area and baby change rooms are available.

Kansas City Airport Facilities for Disabled

The airport terminal has lifts, ramps and wheelchair for passengers to access different levels in the terminal. The airport also has special provisions like specially designed telephones, adaptable toilets, drinking water and assistance with wheelchair push. Any special assistance required at the airport should be requested in advance.

Kansas City is an important historic trading post which was founded in the 1820s when Kansas City became a major center for cattle. The city by the beginning of WW I had grown to 248000 persons and since WW II the city has grown and prospered in innumerable ways. Accommodation and hotels in the city are in plenty ranging from motels, mid range hotels and luxury accommodations, hotels in the city are particularly concentrated around Blue Ridge Boulevard, Hillcrest, Main Street, Plaza Circle and the West 12 th Street.
