Kansas City is the largest city in the U.S state of Missouri and the main city of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, the second largest area in Missouri. After the Civil War the city grew quickly and by 1900 it was the 22nd largest city in the country. With the help of architect George Kessler Kansas City became an example of the City Beautiful movement, which helped sculpt the city into what it is today. It was around this time that Union Station was relocated and the Liberty Memorial was opened. These are still the city’s two biggest landmarks. The Liberty Memorial is a memorial to the fallen soldiers of World War I and houses The National World War I Museum.

The hottest month of the year is July, where as the coldest month is January.
