The city of Jerez is the largest province and is almost entirely dependent on the production and export mainly to Britan. Jerez claims to be the home of Flamenco and the city has one of the largest remaining gypsy populations in Andalucia. Jerez is also renowned for its Cartujano dancing horses the famous Andalucian thtoughbreds trained at the Real Escuela Andaluz del Arte Ecudstre.
This city is most famous in the month of may where the whole town dresses up for the Feria del Caballo the most prestigious equestruan heritage event bringing phenomenal displays of horsemanship, plus flamenco and the bull fights and in the month of September the city celebrates its fortes of sherry flamenco and the horses in the Fiestas de Otono. The city is also famous for its bars and restaurants serving delicious food and the famous Tapas bars serve up inventive local delicacies such as pork chops braised in olorose and slithery-marinaded artichoke hearts. Other dining’s in the city are along the Constitorio and Plaza Vargas.
