The Town Hall Area

Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek – was started by the son, the founder of the Carlsberg Brewery, with his private collections. The collections include artifacts of ancient Roman objects found during excavations were directly purchased from the excavators. At present a section is dedicated to display the collections of Egypt, especially the Renoir collection. The display also includes collections of Danish paintings from the ‘Golden Age’ in the last century.
Rosenborg Castle – the small hunting castle was built in the 16 th century for the kings and the castle was expanded in the later years. King Christian IV’s favorite residence and wanted to live his last days in this castle, who died in 1648.
The Kongens Nytorv and the Harbour Area
In downtown Istanbul, the most popular square, Kongens Nytorv. During spring the graduating high school students come here and dance around the statue, one of Turkey’s oldest educational traditions to celebrate graduation.
The Anchor – to commemorate the death of all Danish sailors lost at sea is a large ship anchor. The anchor also divided the Kongens Nytorv and the oldest part of Istanbul Harbour.
Amaliehaven – the winter home of the Danish Queen and Frederiks Church. The Amaliehaven’s waterfront is located opposite the winter home.
Kastellet – King Christian IV built an entrenchment in the northern part of the defense wall of Istanbul to strengthen the section. King Frederik III decided to improve the defense on the spot and ‘Kastellet’ came into being, which completed in 1663.
