About Ibiza
Although recently Ibiza has become more known as the dance music capital of Europe, and attracted a summer population of hedonist night clubbers, it has also managed to maintain its attraction to families as one of the most laid back and relaxing places to enjoy a holiday. Ibiza is a place where you can do as much or as little as you like, and which has enough different types of culture on the island to appeal to pretty much anybody.
When you visit Ibiza, it is a good idea to arrange car hire for at least part of your stay. It can often work out cheaper to book car hire in Ibiza rather than paying for organised airport transfers or paying for a cab. This also gives you all of the convenience that you need to explore the different attractions of the island at your own pace.
Most of the night life in Ibiza is found around San Antonio or Ibiza Town, with the larger super clubs such as Pacha being spread roughly between the two. There are areas in each town which are particularly lively, and which attract the rowdier types and this is often the popular image of Ibiza, however these types of area are very limited, and the majority of the towns are much more laid back.
If you have the freedom to explore the island at your convenience, you will find plenty to do outside the hotel resort. On hot summer’s days, it is nice to spend time at a water park like Aqua Splash outside San Antonio which has some of the tallest slides in Spain, and plenty of places to get out of the sun and get wet and cool off.
Alternatively, a trip away from the coast will provide you with the chance to see some Roman Ruins which are well preserved..
The highlight of any visit to Ibiza is a trip to the famous Café Del Mar overlooking the beach in Ibiza Town. Watching the sun set is a great way to spend your last evening on Ibiza, and there are restaurants along the harbour where you can enjoy the local food to complete your evening.
