Hawaii the Big Island is ripe with endless opportunities to explore it natural wonders, this lush tropical island is the largest and most diverse in the Hawaiian archipelago and boasts the worlds largest mountains and Kilauea the world’s most active volcano. Some of the famous places to visit in this Big Island are the Hawaii Valcanoes National Park established in 1916 is an International Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage site, the Waipi’o Valley which is perfect for hiking or touring on horseback located on the windward side of the Kohala Mountains, the Hawaiian Sailing Canoe a double hulled sailing canoe at the Whales eye view of the rugged Kohlal coast, the Manta Ray Dives- the clear waters of Kailua Kona and the Fair Winds Catamaran famous for scuba dive through the crystal clear water and watch colorful tropical fish play hide and seek with resident sea turtles spinner dolphins and visiting whales when the season is right.
Shopping in the city is the highlight with enormous shopping- the Big Island shopping area has a number of local art galleries, fine jewellery shops, while local markets around the island will feature handicrafts and the famous Kona coffee. The downtown Hilo’s shopping district includes historic restored storefronts and theatres and intimate botiques and eateries. Factory outlets for macadamia nuts and candies and assorted gifts are all available in the city of Hawaii.
