Getting to Gran Canaria
There are no alternatives to get to Gran Canaria except by air as it is an island. From Fuerteventura, a ferry service is provided but this is only for day-trippers and not for the package holiday trip also.
The airport is situated approximately 11miles away from Las Palmas and is an extremely busy one as it provides air travels to and from a sound amount of International destinations. Free hotel shuttles, public buses and taxis offer ground transport between the island’s famous resorts and the airport.
The Airport has nine million travelers yearly and is the biggest airport of the island, able to handle up to 53 flights hourly. There is a solitary terminal having 3 detached zones, between which every departures and arrivals are managed. Key airlines like Futura, Excel, Spanair and Iberia offer flights between the island and mainland Spain and the UK. It provides excellent facilities, which consists of essentials like ATMs, ample dining and shopping shops.
Public bus services link with major destinations on the island with the airport. The number 66 goes to Faro de Maspalomas and resorts around the airport and the number 60 runs to Las Palmas.
