Exploring Gran Canaria
An island of diverse sceneries with African, American and European plants, genus and a mountain array at its centre peaking at about 2,000 meters- Gran Canaria is unique.
Beside the shore the beaches are wide and sandy. It is residence of the capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with its unique structural design and vibrantly decorated houses. The capital consists of a Gothic cathedral established immediately after the America discovery and the Latin American influenced Barrio de la Vegueta area.
The House of Columbus reminds us that Christopher stopped here on his America discovery expedition. Museums consist of the Museo Canario which highlights the original inhabitants of the island. The Guanches and the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno are the two famous museums with great contemporary arts. The Jardín Canario is only five miles from Las Palmas which depicts the incredible collection of plants of Gran Canaria. While exploring this beautiful island, one should not forget the Arinaga fishing village having panoramique scenes and Teror which seems to glide in the air 575 meters over sea level. In the north, Guia has a collection of caverns engraved from terrified lava. Of the beaches, Maspalomas has 4 miles of excellent white sands. Playa del Inglés is one of the most well-known beaches, with contemporary hotels and cafes, restaurants, clubs and bars. By comparison, San Agustín is more relaxing and quieter. Costa de Bañaderos is a gathering of tiny bays.
