Gran Canaria is called "Miniature Continent" because of the diversity of landscapes and dissimilar climates. Around 2,200,000 tourist visit there annually. Most tourists visit the southern part. The north is a bit cooler and the south is opposite. The east coast is flat dotted with beaches and the western coast is mountainous.
Playa Del Inglés, San Agustín, Maspalomas and Sonnenland are the spots where most visitors visit. Lighthouse at Maspalomas is another tourist attraction. A picturesque village named Puerto de Mogán which is termed as "Little Venice" is also present there.
Other magnetisms consist of Reptilandia Park, Palmitos Park, Cocodrilos Park, Cenobio de Valerón, Cueva Pintada, Roque Nublo and the botanical gardens named Cactualdea and Jardin Canario. El Dedo de Dios aka "God's Finger" used to be a stony spire extending from Puerto de las Nieves, and was formerly the key appeal of Gran Canaria until it was demolished by a Storm named Delta.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the capital city, is famous for its yearly Carnaval. The district has some of the finest conserved cave homes in the sheltered region in the Guayadeque Ravine.
Other imperative cities are Telde, Gáldar and Vecindario. In Arucas there is a superb Neogothic temple termed also as "Arucas's Cathedral ". A fishing city named Arguineguin is present in the Mogán Municipality. The market is held on Tuesdays and it is the biggest market in Gran Canaria.
