
About Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria is one of the Canary Islands located in the Atlantic Ocean from the northwest coast of Africa and belonging to Spain and it is on volcanic origin. Gran Canaria is blessed with a wealth of natural resource the most notable of these being the numerous and expuisite beaches of the island.
This little city is famous for its sandy beaches located in especially attractive surroundings as they form part of protected areas recognized for their natural beauty and unspoilt landscapes. The main beaches are located along the southern part of the island between the Tarajalillo and Mogan, which is the sunniest and driest part of the island. This city is also famous for its sea lovers, the water temperature which varies between 18 degree in the winter and 22 degree during the rest of the year is a perfect place and the harbour infrastructure for yatching and the optimal sea and the wind conditions make the island the ideal place for practicing sailing and other water sports in the most important leisure activity on offer on the island.
Some of the famous museums in the city of Gran Canaria are the Casa de Colon, Casa Museo Perez Galdos, Centro Atlantico de Arte Moderno, Musea Canario and the Museo Casa Antonio Pardon. Food in the city is fabulous, many restaurants and hotels are available in the city serving some delicious food.
