Glasgow Weather

The weather in Glasgow can be temperamental. You can experience rain at pretty much any time, so it’s a good idea to take this into consideration when packing. Although the rainfalls can be seen as an obstacle to some, it’s worth remembering that if Glasgow didn’t have the rain it has, we would not be able to enjoy the wonderful greenery Glasgow has to offer.

It’s not all rain however, and the summers in Glasgow are warm. The summer period begins around the middle of June and although there may be chance of rain, it is less likely during the summer months. Tourist attractions are also known to extend their trading hours to accommodate the greater number of visitors during the summer months.

The winter period, as expected, is cold. Winters in Glasgow start around October, so it’s worth taking the cold weather into consideration if you are visiting during this period. Fans of winter sports normally visit during November and March to take advantage of the snow covered mountains. But of course the snow can never be guaranteed.

If you don’t mind a few showers then spring can be a chance to take in the sights and obtain accommodation easily.

So when visiting Glasgow it is worth preparing for all elements. As well as your casual jeans and t-shirts it will be worth packing a winter coat, some gloves and some minor winter clothes just in case. But don’t let the weather deter you from enjoying the sights of Glasgow, there is many a scenic view to be had by visiting greenery when it rains. It is also worth pointing out that many of Glasgow’s tourist attractions are indoors as well as outdoors, so your day need not be spoilt by bad weather.

You can also check on the Met Office website for Glasgow weather forecasts, this will give you a 5 day indication of what the weather is likely to be through the week.
