Fort Lauderdale known throughout America as a major spring break resort, located in the east central portion of Broward County, on the beach now known as D.C Alexander Park just south of Las Olas Boulevard. Among the other attractions- the Flamingo Gardens with around 60 acres of luch botanical gardens and an abundance of natural and exotic beauty, the Pompano Park Harness Track the only pari mutuel harness race track in Florida, the Mills Pond Park a big city park offering many recreational and sporting activities in Fort Lauderdale and the Jungle Queen Riverboat tours a traditional Mississippi riverboat providing guided sightseeing torus are some of the attractions which are worth visiting and exploring them.

Some of the other tourist attractions are the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation providing with information about the history of the Fort Lauderdale area, the Old Fort Lauderdale which is a historic district with Broward County’s largest collection of the late 19 th century to the early 20 th century buildings and the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church one of the Fort Lauderdale’s most famous churches towering high into the sky.

Museums and galleries in the city are in plenty dedicated to educating both the locals and the visitors about those aspects of its past that have helped to shape the character of Fort Lauderdale today. Some of these famous museums are the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum displaying the history of the Seminoles in South Florida towards the end of the 19 th century, the Fort Lauderdale Historical Museum dedicated to preserving the history of the city with particular attention given to the Seminole period, the Old Dillard Cultural Arts Museum a new addition to the city’s museum featuring range of aspects of interest including the Yoruba Heritage Gallery, Interactive Gallery, Cycle of Life Gallery and the Old Dillard Heritage Gallery and the last certainly not the least is the Antique Car Museum dedicated to showcasing US advances in engineering and automative development.

The city center of Fort Lauderdale consists of many hotels and a number of hotels can also be found near to the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood Internatioanl Airport. The Fort Lauderdale beach district features a long promenade lined with hotels, bars, restaurants and shops.
