Florida Eating & Drinking
Florida is famous for the wide range of food available from its great restaurants. No matter where you are in this great state, you can find plenty of places to eat. All types of cuisine are available with fantastic tastes from around the world close by.
As well as the usual range of chain eateries that are present in all major US cities, Florida has plenty of smaller places owned and run by the locals and immigrants from around the world. Many of these specialize in tasty Spanish influenced food dishes and the Caribbean is also a big influence on the local cuisine. As befits a state with such a large coastline, it is not difficult to imagine that seafood is extremely popular and great seafood restaurants can be found in most towns.
Every little town has its own great restaurants that are all worth trying. The best way to find the tastiest food in the town where you are staying is to ask the locals. They will be pleased to recommend their favourite restaurant for you to enjoy the same great food that they do.
If you are in the Cocoa Beach area, then Bernard’s Surf is a great place to hang out with your family or your friends. The restaurant might have a casual atmosphere, but the food is first-rate and one of the best seafood restaurants on the Atlantic Coast. If you are on a date, then the more romantic atmosphere at the Black Tulip might be more to your requirements with traditional American dishes and live piano music.
Families might enjoy a meal at the Dixie Crossroads, and particularly the specialty corn fritters. They make a great range of meat dishes and all the entrees come with fries, rice or corn on the cob and those tasty corn fritters.
