About Exeter
Exeter is the southernmost city in the UK, and is the county town of Devon. While the city is well known as a major commercial centre in the north of England, it is also recognised as a major tourist town, and the entry point to the English Riviera along the south coast of Devon.
Exeter itself has a number of attractions that you would want to include in your visit, including the attractive cathedral building, the famous Iron Bridge over the River Exe, and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, which was built by Queen Victoria in tribute to her and her husband's many visits to Exeter during their reign. Exeter has been inhabited since Roman times, and there are several impressive Roman Ruins alongside the river that you can view during the summer months.

There are regular steam train services along the coast that run as tourist specials in the summer, and if you are able to schedule your trip on one of these, it is well worth the additional cost of the ticket.
